“I took this picture in front of Lawndale Community Church. Every summer we have a project where they have people volunteer to come out and plant flowers in front of the church. It’s a good experience for people to just see how we trying to rebuild our community. . . . I was standing out there in front of the church and I just started thinking . . . you have to really plant this flower – tulips – every year to grow. I was just thinking about my life, how I’m trying to grow with Christ in my life now.”
